Read MoreIf you are an employer, a landlord or a business owner, you are required by law to hold a current fire risk assessment for your premises. Our assessors are all former Fire & Rescue Service officers who previously worked in fire authority audit and enforcement, so your assessment is carried out by people who know exactly what an inspecting officer looks for.
We survey the premises in consultation with the responsible person and issue a written report with clear, prioritised and genuinely achievable recommendations — not a generic checklist.
A fire alarm system is only worth having if it is the right category for the building and is maintained properly. We supply, install, commission and maintain fire detection and alarm systems for commercial premises of every size, specified to the British Standard and to the findings of your fire risk assessment.
Existing system? We can take over its servicing, or survey it and tell you honestly whether it is adequate — including where a previous installer has fitted more detection than you actually need.
Extinguishers must be the correct type for the risks present, sited where they can actually be reached, and serviced annually by a competent person. We handle all of it — supply, siting, signage and ongoing maintenance — so that your provision stands up to scrutiny.
We will also tell you where you are over-provisioned. Buying and servicing extinguishers you do not need is a recurring cost with no safety benefit.
If the power fails during a fire, your escape routes still have to be usable. Emergency lighting is one of the most commonly neglected areas of fire safety and one of the most frequently picked up during an audit, usually because nobody has been recording the monthly and annual tests.
We design, install and maintain emergency lighting to BS 5266, and we will set you up with a testing regime your staff can realistically keep on top of.
The Fire Safety Order requires you to give your staff adequate fire safety training, and to appoint a sufficient number of competent people to help implement your fire safety arrangements. Our training is delivered by former fire officers and built around your premises and your evacuation plan rather than a generic slide deck.
Sessions are run on site at a time that suits your operation, and every attendee receives a certificate for your training records.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places the duty for fire safety squarely on the responsible person. Our directors previously worked within fire authority enforcement and have assisted fire authority legal teams, which puts us in an unusually strong position to advise you on compliance — and to act for you if enforcement action has already begun.
If you have received an enforcement, alterations or prohibition notice, contact us straight away. These notices carry deadlines, and the sooner we are involved the more options you have.
